Healing through Yoga

Healing through Yoga

This empowering practice, based on the Ayurvedic system of health, is a combination of Hatha Yoga asanas or positions and hands-on application of energy balancing, with each class having a specific focus of bringing into balance a system or structure of the mind-body.  Both physically and energetically releasing tension patterns, opening contracted areas, restoring energy flow to areas of stagnation, and calming over stimulated areas.

The practice of Yoga brings improved health and vitality, and healing of imbalances of the mind-body.  Healing Through Yoga adds a new dimension, enhancing the traditional Yoga practice with a focus on energetically releasing tension patterns and contraction in the body, resulting in opening, balancing, and revitalizing.  This can be an effective method of progression for those with chronic restrictions that limit their range of motion and flexibility.  This practice is also very grounding and calming, bringing us into our bodies in a relaxed state of presence and feeling of well-being.  These benefits extend beyond just the physical aspects, providing a profound effect on mental, emotional and spiritual levels as well.  Combining the yoga and hands-on energy work has proven to be a powerful healing method, and a key to unlocking chronic pain and dysfunction.

Classes are 90 minutes long, beginning with Hatha Yoga asanas, including partner positions to open the body and get the energy moving, then participants are lead through the hands on portion of the class under the instructor's direction, changing roles giving and receiving part way through.  You don't need to be trained in the technique to participate in assisting healing and balancing for yourself and your partner, the instructor walks you through every move.

 Advanced classes:

For those teaching Yoga who want to enhance their practice and offer more to their students, a training course is being developed to teach you how to work with your students 1:1 using Polarity Therapy to help open tight and restricted areas that have resisted change with yoga alone.  This would provide an opportunity to grow your yoga practice and offer more to your clients and  students.  These courses would also be a pre-requisite for those interested in becoming TOUCH THERAPY YOGA  instructors.
